THE TESTS OF LIFE WILL DETERMINE THE PROMOTIONS WE RECEIVE.

Luke 4:1-2, 14 (NKJV)
“Then Jesus, being filled with the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, being tempted for forty days by the devil. And in those days He ate nothing, and afterward, when they had ended, He was hungry. Then Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and news of Him went out through all the surrounding region.”
We will never go to the next grade in school until we have passed the tests of the last grade. The same is true in every area of our lives. When we pass the intermediate test in our season of preparation, God takes us on to advanced testing to see what our potential is in the Kingdom of God.
Many believers assume it is God’s will for them to escape every difficult situation that arises in their lives. For instance, someone once told me, “I’ve been having such a rough time at my job lately, the people I work with don’t like me. They even told me that they hate me! I think God is moving me on.” That is simply not true. Who went to the lion’s den with Daniel? No one.
Daniel understood that sometimes God allows His people to stay in difficult situations to see if they pass the test. Without a test there is no promotion. Isn’t it interesting that the Bible tells us Jesus was led by the Holy Spirit into the wilderness to be tested? We must understand, before we can ever move to the next class of life we must first pass the test of our present situation.

CONFESSION
2 Timothy 2:15
“I am diligent to present myself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth.”

WINNING IS NOT A DESTINATION, IT IS THE PROCESS THAT BROUGHT YOU THERE.

Philippians 3:13 (NKJV)
“Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead.”
We must continue to press on in order to ensure that our next performance of responsibilities is better than the last one. This is the reason we must always walk in excellence. Never should we stop sharpening our skills, our abilities, and our character. Our lifelong attitude should be, “I can become more. I can do more. I don’t have to stay the same.” If we try to change everything that needs to be changed in our lives all at once, we will become overwhelmed. We won’t be able to maintain the pain and the price of the necessary changes.
We are on a journey. Life is not a race to be won, but a journey to be enjoyed. Enjoy change. Embrace change, but don’t go overboard. Make the needed changes one at a time. We can become the best God has made us to be if we will only take our pursuit of excellence one step and one day at a time.
Being excellent does not mean we become perfectionists. We must accept ourselves right now where we are, but look to improve what we can. Excellence is always changing as it continues on its journey. Our commitment to change is the determining factor in how far up the ladder of success we will go.

CONFESSION
Philippians 3:13
“I do not count myself to having achieved excellence, but this one thing I do, I forget that which is behind and I press on to a new and better future.”

IN ORDER TO GET WHAT YOU WANT YOU MUST BE WILLING TO GIVE UP WHAT YOU HAVE.

Mark 8:34 - 35 (NKJV)
"Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it.”
There is no achievement without sacrifice. The higher anyone desires to go in life; greater is the price they will have to pay.
Where do we want to go?
What is it we want to achieve?
What price are we willing to pay in order to attain that which we are after?
Jesus understands what a person values is revealed by the price they are willing to pay for it. In Mark 8, He tells us that we must take up our cross, deny ourselves and follow Him if we want to be His disciples. If we are unwilling to pay that price, then we prove we truly do not value having a relationship with Him. Whatever we get for free will ultimately be deemed worthless. Why is that? Because we did not have to sacrifice anything to get it.
The same is true in regard to a life of greatness. Greatness is determined by the price we were willing to pay to obtain it. What we sow we will reap. What are we willing to give up? Are we willing to give up our life to serve Christ? God wanted a relationship with us and He proved it by sending His Son to die for us.
The question is: What have we given up to prove that we want a relationship with Him? May God birth within us a strong desire to give up what we have in order to possess what we truly want.

CONFESSION
Mark 8:34
“I desire to follow Christ, therefore I deny myself and take up my cross daily. I sacrifice what I have in order to possess what I want.”

THE OUTCOME OF LIFE IS DEPENDENT UPON THE QUALITY OF RELATIONSHIPS WE LONG FOR.

Proverbs 13:20 (NKJV)
“He who walks with wise men will be wise, But the companion of fools will be destroyed.”
There are essentially two kinds of people in our lives – those who are creatures of comfort and those who are creatures for change. Those who make us comfortable don’t spur us on…they don’t cause us to change…they don’t urge us to become better. When one is content with staying in the mediocrity of their comfort zone, they gravitate toward this type of person.
Those who are in our lives for change are usually the authorities God has placed over us in the various arenas of life, including our employers at work. With these people, we may continually feel a certain pressure to - Change… Stretch… Grow… Become better… Move to a higher level…
This is a healthy type of pressure needed in our lives to help us become all God intends for us to be. If we turn away from the authorities God has ordained who we access information from, and become a companion of those who are disloyal and void of respect, the Bible says we will suffer the consequences.
It is vital that we understand the significance and importance of relationships! Those who we call “friend” largely influence our final destination.

WORSHIP BEGINS THE MOMENT I PLACE MY FOCUS UPON THE KING OF HEAVEN.

Galatians 6:14 (NKJV)
“But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.”
Jesus gives us the prime example of what it truly means to worship God. Jesus laid down His life in order to please His Father. We owe God our lives. We owe love to man, obedience to authority, and worship to God.
It is not enough that we obey God or thank Him for all He has done. The apostle Paul pleads with us to give our bodies, our lives, everything to God, for this is our reasonable act of worship. All of us must ask ourselves if we truly worship God with our lives. Have we given our lives to serve and please Him? We have not worshipped the Father until we have first laid our lives upon the altar of sacrifice.
God is asking all of us today, "Will you lay down your life and worship Me?" Is this too much to ask? Certainly it is not! Let us choose to lay down our lives for our Lord and King.

IF I THINK LIKE I’VE ALWAYS THOUGHT, I’LL CONTINUE TO GET WHAT I’VE ALWAYS GOT.

Isaiah 55:8 (NLT)
"My thoughts are completely different from yours," says the Lord. "And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine."
Since Adam, humanity has had to fight against mind carnality. When we came to Christ, two things did not get saved…our minds and our bodies. The apostle Paul exhorts us to crucify our flesh and renew our minds on a daily basis. Transformation of one’s life only comes through the alteration of one’s mind. We see this exemplified in the life of Joshua. His thoughts of fear and worry would not produce the future God desired for him. Thus, God commanded Joshua to meditate on the Scriptures day and night.
A continuation of negative thoughts will result in sickness, poverty, discouragement, depression, and many unkind circumstances. As we embrace God’s thoughts we will see different results such as health, prosperity, joy and peace. We can all agree that Jesus came to give abundant life; but only those who change their thinking will be able to enjoy the life that Heaven desires to provide for them.

THE ONLY REAL CURE FOR REBELLION IS DISAPPOINTMENT.

Genesis 3:23 - 24 (NKJV)
“Therefore the LORD God sent him out of the garden of Eden to till the ground from which he was taken. So He drove out the man; and He placed cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life.”
God gave Adam the garden but never gave him the tree… Adam took the tree and lost the garden. God gave David the kingdom but never gave him Bathsheba…David took Bathsheba and lost the kingdom. God gave Solomon the throne but never the right to worship other gods…He worshiped others gods and lost all that God had given to him.
The prophet Isaiah said it like this, “But if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured by the sword.” God desires for us to have the best in life. But rebellion will quickly strip us of everything God has given us. Truthfully, no loving father would grant his child blessing after blessing when they constantly walk in rebellion. We can see throughout Scripture that rebellion’s only remedy is loss or severe disappointment. The good thing is that we can make a choice and determine whether or not we ever walk in rebellion.
I made the choice to obey over 25 years ago and I am not changing now. There is too much at stake. I cannot imagine God having to strip me of His blessings because I was unwilling to listen to His instructions. We must choose to obey today and refuse to ever go back. I guarantee it will be one of the greatest decisions you ever make!

GRATITUDE IS THE GIFT I GIVE TO THOSE WHO REACHED OUT AND CHANGED MY LIFE.

Luke 17:15-19 (NKJV)
“And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God, and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a Samaritan. So Jesus answered and said, ‘Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?’ And He said to him, ‘Arise, and go your way. Your faith has made you well.’"
David understood being grateful as much, if not more than any other man in all of scripture. David penned this in Psalm 119, “…I will thank You by living as I should.” You and I cannot repay God for what He has done for us. There is nothing we can do to fully return all God has bestowed upon our lives except to live for Him.
Our reverence toward God and His Word is not a form of repayment…it is the proof of recognition that we owe Him our very lives. Is it too much to be thankful? What are the things you are thankful for? As David did, we must thank the Lord by living as we should. There is no greater way to express our reverence to God than possessing a heart of gratitude.
Let me conclude with the words of the apostle Paul, “And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind He will accept. When you think of what He has done for you, is this too much to ask?”

CONFESSION

DOUBT IS THE VEHICLE THAT LEADS US DOWN THE ROAD OF POVERTY.

James 1:5-7 (NKJV)
"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord."
Doubt puts a chokehold on any blessings that God wants to bring to our lives. The moment we look upon the circumstances of our lives, we dilute the faith that we possess. When Peter focused on the waves and wind he began to sink – and so will we if we allow doubt to crowd our faith in what God said.
If we focus on the circumstances of life rather than keep our attention on God’s Word, faith will remain dormant. Doubt is given power the moment we have chosen to take our eyes off of the truth of what God said. But faith comes alive the moment we choose to believe the promises of God regardless of what we are going through. Doubt will remain powerless as we commit to live by faith and not by sight, for we have been recreated in Christ to dwell there.

CONFESSION
James 1:5-8

TRUE POTENTIAL IS ONLY ACHIEVED BY THE WILLINGNESS TO QUICKLY CHANGE.

Matthew 19:21 - 22 (NKJV)
"Jesus said to him, ‘If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.’ But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions."
When we refuse to embrace change in any area of our lives we hinder God from helping us grow. It is impossible to continue to grow when change is refused. God calls us to walk, talk and live as Christ did while here upon the earth. All of us have a long way to go and have more than one area to change. But the good news is that we can get better because of our relationship with Christ. If we willingly allow Christ to take over our lives and if we follow His Lordship, we will grow up in Christ.
Our willingness to embrace change authorizes Heaven to promote us to a higher level and give us a better future. As we seek to improve ourselves, we will soon achieve our God-given potential. We see in the above passage that the day the rich young ruler refused to change was the day he no longer was moving forward. His refusal to change his thinking set him on a path of destruction.
We cannot afford to allow our pride to keep us from embracing the necessary changes that are necessary for continual growth. In order to exceed our present status, we must be willing to pay the price of change.

CONFESSION
1 John 2:6

THE VIEW OF LIFE IS ALWAYS BEAUTIFUL WHEN I LOOK THROUGH THE WINDOW OF GOD'S WORD.

Romans 4:20 - 22 (NKJV)
“He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform."
The apostle Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 2:9, "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor has entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him." According to this passage, we can only see into our future through the window of God’s Word.
We cannot see Heaven’s plan for our lives until we look through God’s eyes. God has called us to walk by faith and not by what we see. As many of us already know, faith is the substance of the things we cannot perceive with our senses. When we begin to meditate upon the Word of God and view life through His eyes, then and only then can we see what Heaven has stored up for us.
We can never experience that which our Spirit man cannot see. Let us focus upon God’s Word to paint a picture that will one day become a reality. Let us view life with the window of God’s Word and see how beautiful life truly is.

THE CONDITION OF MY HEART IS PROVEN BY THE DIRECTION OF MY LIFE.

Luke 6:45 (NKJV)
“A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.”
Christianity is a heart issue. We, as believers, must live life from the inside out. Society tells us that if we can change our environment we can change our lives. Many have believed that only to find themselves back where they first started. We must remember that the life we live on the outside is a reflection of who we are on the inside.
If we don’t like the way we act at times; if we don’t like the attitude we possess; if we don’t like the thoughts we embrace; we will not find the answer in the surroundings we see…we must look within our hearts. If we desire to live as Christ did, we must cultivate the heart of Christ. Victory, freedom, health, and wisdom all originate in the heart before they are evident in the natural. 3 John 2 states, “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou may prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospers.”
The abundant life God desires for all of us will only be granted to those who are committed to capturing and embracing the heart of God. Make the choice to pursue God’s heart today.

CONFESSION
Luke 6:45
“Father, I thank You for a soft and tender heart. I thank You that I am pliable to Your will for my life. I understand the condition of my life is a reflection of the condition of my heart. And I choose to surrender my life to Your Spirit expecting my heart to beat as Yours.”

THE REWARDS OF LIFE ARE DELIVERED ONLY UPON THE DOORSTEPS OF THOSE WHO OVERCOME.

John 10:10 (NKJV)
“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

Revelation 3:21 (NKJV)
“To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.
Being a believer does not necessarily qualify us to receive the abundant life Jesus desires for us to achieve and enjoy. Diplomas are not passed out on registration day for your freshmen year in college. God calls for those who have truly put their trust in Him to reign as a king in this life. It is our God-given right and responsibility to reign over our flesh and defeat the enemy who comes against us.
But, why is it that there are so many Christians that are not walking in a life of abundant rewards? We must not kid ourselves when answering this question. We can clearly see in scripture that rewards come only to those who overcome. Nobody gets rewarded for participating. Reward comes to those who win the contest.
We are in a battle and Satan is not going to give up easily. He will, however, bow his knee and fall to defeat if we will continue to fight back with the spiritual weapons that we possess. As we fight back and conquer, we will soon experience the abundant and rewarding life God desires for us.

CONFESSION

EVERY MAN WANTS MORE FAITH; BUT FEW PEOPLE WANT MORE OF GOD'S WORD.

Romans 10:17 (NKJV)
So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.
Luke 17:5-7 (NKJV)
And the apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith.”
So the Lord said, “If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, 'Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,' and it would obey you.”
As believers in Jesus Christ we are called to walk by faith and not by sight. Our obedience brings heaven no pleasure until it has first been mixed with faith. Faith is not a magical powder heaven showers upon those who ask for it. Faith is not something that one can pray for, nor does it come because we went through a negative experience.
We only find two ways in all of scripture indicating how we can increase our faith. The first way is by hearing of the Word of God and the other through the confession of our mouth. Before we can understand why that is, we must understand that faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
God’s Word is full of truths that many of us have yet to experience in our lives. The more we meditate upon the truths of God’s Word and confess them throughout our day, the more faith will begin to rise up within our hearts. We will then possess the necessary power to overcome the giants in our lives. Once faith is released through our mouth and ignited by our actions, we will soon see the manifestation of God’s promises in our lives.

CONFESSION
Romans 10:17; Joshua 1:8

ACTION IS THE MISSING INGREDIENT TO A LIFETIME FILLED WITH PRODUCTIVITY.

Hebrews 4:2 (AMP)
"…but the message they heard did not benefit them, because it was not mixed with faith…”
All of us know how important it is to make our works count, to make certain that what we say happens. If we only hear and hear and hear about God’s Word and never act on it, then nothing can or ever will happen for us.
We must stir the Word of God into our daily habits and our home life in order for them to be productive. We must develop an ability to act. As we act on God’s Word on a daily basis, expect daily productivity. You don’t need to rush, but don’t waste time either. There are many who intend to take action but wait too long and the passion to produce dwindles away. Act when the instruction is fresh.
Take action today on whatever it is you seem to be procrastinating about. Remember, faith is no more than acting on the Word of God…for our obedience is the only proof that we believe in Him.

CONFESSION
Hebrews 4:2; 2 Corinthians 5:7
"I am a man of faith. I mix action with what I hear from the Word of God. I walk by what God says and not by what I believe. I am not only a hearer of the Word, I am a doer of that Word also.”

TRUTH WITHOUT LOVE IS CRUELTY,BUT LOVE WITHOUT TRUTH IS HYPOCRISY.

Ephesians 4:15 (NKJV)
“But, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head – Christ…”
Before we ever begin to shine the light of correction upon another we must first take the time to honestly evaluate whether or not we are telling ourselves the truth. For instance, are we unapproachable about any area of our lives? Have we been guilty to allow the seriousness of our need for change to touch our hearts?
God also requires honesty with others when it is needed. He may lead us to talk to someone who just doesn’t seem to understand the severity of his or her situation. If that person doesn’t recognize the potential consequences of their wrong behavior, we may come to the point where we realize we cannot let the lie go on any longer – we must confront that person with the truth.
Proverbs 27:6 tells us, “Faithful are the wounds of a friend.” Many Christians do not understand how important this principle is. They want to spend all of their time telling a person how great he is instead of loving him enough to tell him the truth he needs to hear, even if it hurts.
So let us choose to be a true friend knowing that faithful are these wounds. A true friend is the only one who is willing to speak the truth in love.

CONFESSION
Ephesians 4:15
“I am a faithful friend and I speak the truth in love.”

GOD CANNOT REWRITE YOUR PAST SO HE PROVIDED YOU A NEW ONE.

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV)
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."
It won’t do us any good to hold on to the past. I come from a past that is worthy to forget. I could sit here and think, “Boy I sure hope that someday old things pass away. I sure hope that someday all things become new for me. Oh, God, please do something for me. Please free me from my past.” But I won’t do that, I will always find out what the scriptures say.
God said, “If anyone is in Christ…” I know I am in Christ. The scripture above says that if I am a believer, old things have passed away; and if something has passed away then it is dead. Our pasts are dead. That old sinful creature that dwelled within is dead. Our old lives can only live if we resurrect them from the dead. The devil cannot resurrect the past. He can scream all day long, but that doesn’t change the fact that God says our pasts are dead, and He has given us new ones.
When the old self is giving us problems attempting to direct us toward carnality, that is the time to remind ourselves of what we already know – that our old self was crucified with Christ. And if our old self was crucified with Him, then our old self cannot make us do anything! We must decide today that we are going to embrace the new future God provided, and then we will experience the true freedom we have been searching for.

CONFESSION
2 Corinthians 5:17
"I am in Christ. I am a new creation. Old things have passed away, and everything has become new.”

THE LORDSHIP OF CHRIST CAN ONLY BE PROVEN BY MY COMPLIANCE TO HIS COMMANDS.

Luke 6:46 (NKJV)
"But why do you call Me 'Lord, Lord,' and not do the things which I say?”
I have come to discover two philosophies of obedience in this world. Let me use a mental picture to give you an idea of these two ways of thinking…
Three men are standing on the deck of an aircraft carrier. The sergeant in arms, who is standing on a level just above the deck, suddenly calls out, “Duck! Hit the deck.” Two of the men instantly hit the deck. The third man remains standing and looking around asks, “Why? What’s going on?” Suddenly an incoming missile explodes on the deck. The third man, who failed to heed the sergeant’s warning, is killed by the exploding shrapnel. A few minutes later, the other two men who instantly obeyed the warning get up from the deck uninjured.
Let me explain my point…The third man represents the Greek understanding of obedience. He remained standing on the deck asking the question, “Why?” He was only ready to comply once he understood the answer. Our modern American culture is based on the Greek philosophy of obedience. The Hebrew understanding of obedience is simply to obey – then understanding will come.
Jesus is not the Lord of my life until I fully comply before the instruction is given. Whatever is written, we must make the decision to willingly surrender our own way to God’s way.

CONFESSION
Luke 6:46 - 48
"I surrender my will to God’s and I follow His instructions. I am like a wise man who built his house upon the rock and when the storms come, I will not be shaken because my life is founded on the firm foundation of God’s Word.”

STOP STRUGGLING TO APPLY THE WORD TO YOUR LIFE AND BEGIN TO APPLY YOUR LIFE TO THE WORD.

Psalm 119:9 (AMP)
"How shall a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed and keeping watch [on himself] according to Your word [conforming his life to it].”

We need to stop using God’s Word as a tool to get us out of our negative circumstances and begin to use His Word as our guide through life. I have seen it, and it is becoming more prevalent in the Church where individuals are neglecting God’s Word until they need help in a certain area of their lives. Their marriage is struggling so they find out what they need to do get their marriage back on track, but refuse to govern their business by God’s Word. So their marriage begins to smooth out, but their business begins to crumble and the cycle begins once again. This is not the way God intended for it to be.

What does it mean to apply our lives to the Word? It means…- To live by it - To obey its every instruction - To pursue the Word of God and seek the truth that it contains- To base every thought, word and decision by it- To filter every relationship through it- To embrace the authority by which it stands- To see it as truth and act accordingly God’s Word must govern our lives! Jesus said it like this, “Why do you call me Lord, Lord and do not do the things I say?” We cannot claim Jesus as our Lord, but yet be unwilling to apply our lives to His word. The moment we build our lives around His Word is the moment He truly has become the Lord of our lives.

CONFESSION
Psalm 119:9
"I live a life pleasing to the Lord by taking heed and keeping His Word. I pursue and obey God’s instruction and will apply my life to His Word.”

Why am i spending so much time online again recently? hahas.. I think i really need to do something about it... I don't think i should keep waiting and waiting here? For what? Wouldn't it better if i just let go of it, and let all this time instead of spending it online, spend it with God?
